Many people associate mentoring or counseling with weakness, which couldn’t be further from the truth. It takes more courage to admit your faults and ask for advice instead of pretending like you have everything under control. In addition, having a mentor allows you to have someone to hold you accountable for the goals you set for yourself, check in on you, and provide support when you feel discouraged.
Speaking broadly, an entrepreneur is someone who identifies a need in the market and attempts to fill it. Naturally, this isn’t always the case as the world doesn’t really need another burger joint, but guess what? A new one just opened up somewhere in this fine country of ours as I wrote this. Regardless of whether a need has truly been identified, or you are simply improving on a product that already exists, starting your own business will be difficult with no guarantee of success -- regardless of how well you may plan ahead.
The old saying about “learning from mistakes” is especially true for those who have launched their own company. Even the most accomplished entrepreneurs have experienced their fair share of embarrassing mistakes and unexpected problems when they first opened their business! Fortunately, many business owners are able to laugh at themselves, resolve their past mishaps, and then share the lessons they learned with other aspiring entrepreneurs.
Deciding to launch your own company takes an immense amount of personal passion and dedication, but that doesn’t mean it should be a solo venture. Entrepreneurs have to learn how to balance the technical aspects of their company with building their network and connecting with other business leaders in order to ensure the success of their business ideas. However, this is often easier said than done.

The annual event brings together accomplished and early-stage entrepreneurs for unconditional speed mentoring.
